"This is not just a wellness space. It is proof that Black women deserve rooms built around our rest, creativity, leadership, and joy."Paris Alexandra, Founder

The Problem

NYC is losing the spaces that hold us.

Rising rents and operating costs are closing independent community spaces across the city. When a space like this disappears, a neighborhood loses more than square footage. It loses programming, relationships, trust, and belonging that took years to build.

What We're Building

A creative wellness home.

  • A multicultural home base where entrepreneurs and practitioners build their businesses, grow their brands, and root their community
  • Programming that centers Black women and welcomes everyone who gathers around them
  • Space for the people the wellness and creative industries have historically overlooked: the unseen, the unheard, the underrepresented
  • A gathering place for diverse events, activations, and experiences across cultures and generations
  • A future nonprofit arm for access and scholarships
Your Impact

Your gift builds capacity.

  • Funds more community-centered wellness and creative programming
  • Creates opportunities for entrepreneurs, practitioners, and facilitators
  • Supports admin and programming capacity behind the scenes
  • Keeps the physical space operational so the work can continue

Why This Matters

Rare spaces are worth protecting.

BWC opened in 2023, built on more than a decade of community work in Brooklyn. In that short time it has become what most spaces never manage to be: a room that reflects people back to themselves. Black, Brown, and multicultural. Plus-size and every size. Artists, educators, founders, students, parents, and people still figuring it out.

This is a room people describe as "where I found my people." That is what you are protecting, and this campaign makes sure it keeps growing instead of just surviving, while laying the groundwork for a nonprofit arm that expands access through scholarships and community programming.

The Founder
"I built the room I once needed and could never find."

Paris Alexandra navigated teen homelessness and 16 schools before yoga, poetry, and community changed her life. She became Nike's first global plus-size yoga athlete, and on Juneteenth 2023 she opened BWC: a permanent home for everyone the wellness world overlooked. Your gift keeps that home open.

BWC deserves more than survival. It deserves capacity.

Your contribution helps BWC expand programming, support entrepreneurs and practitioners, build the staff capacity needed to grow, and keep this rare space open for the community.
